If you want to get referrals you can post articles in EzineArticles.com or any other popular article directory. Include a nice little advertisement in your AboutMe resource box. Never waste this area with aboutme info. You always want to post a good ad in there.

Another way to get referrals is by posting in the forums. I am a frequent poster in the Affilorama forum and my signature file now has a little note about this co-op. It’s best to post helpful information before you have an ad in your signature file.

You can also Tweet about it, post a note in Facebook or Myspace, or any other social site. If you have AMA, post some articles in there about building a list and add your referral link.

The solution is to join a place that has thousands of people who own blogs that want your articles. AMA and LinkVine are the two places that offer this solution. They both cost $47.00, but they are not equal. Not in my opinion. I have tried both. I use AMA.

AMA stands for Article Marketing Automation.

They both allow you to submit your articles to be published to other peoples blogs. Most people will spin their articles and then submit them for publishing. Each article has up to three links in them, however, most articles do not have any type of resource box so it looks as though the article was written by the owner of the website. Or a registered contributor.

There are pros and cons to article spinning. The pro is that each article will be spun into a different version and this helps the blog owners avoid duplicate content. In addition that adds a nice backlink to the article writer.

The con is that many people use article spinners and they do not pay attention to the quality of the content after it is spun. I personally will only use an article spinner to help me come up with ideas, but I do not allow the article to be spun without any proof reading.

This is where I found AMA a better option. Almost every article that I was receiving from LinkVine was horribly spun content. Articles that reside on my blogs need to make sense. Even if the content of the blog is not full of spectacular articles, I still want them to make sense. And I want my readers to actually find value in them.

If you do decide to use an Article publishing program like AMA or LinkVine, I highly recommend that you do NOT automatically accept any article.  Far too many articles can sneak in that are either incredible poor content, make little sense, or in some cases the articles are duplicates that have been resubmitted using different titles and categories.

Typically I have seen my articles will receive a 85 to 95% acceptance rate even when they are only spun at 40%. I believe this is probably because they are actually well written articles.

However, articles that are spun at 200% most times receive 100% acceptance. To get your articles to be as high as 200% you’ll need each sentence to be written 2 to 3 times.

TIPS FOR SPINNING

When you are spinning your articles there are a few things you can do to generate even more variety in your articles.

1. Sentence variety.

Example:

Sentence version 1  -  The little boy was swimming in the murky water.

Sentence version 2 -  On this hot day in May a small child was playing in a nearby creek. He was really having a good time.

Notice in the first version there is one short sentence. In the second version there are actually two sentences and they are longer then the first.

Paragraph Structure

In AMA you can create inner spinning. Too much to explain here, they have a pdf tutorial on their site. However, let me show you how you can very a paragraph in such a way that it adds even more variety to each spin.

Paragraph version 1:

If you are planning a trip to Hawaii in the summer, be sure to bring your camera, a big towel, and some shorts.

Paragraph version 2:

When you travel to Hawaii, it’s a good idea to have the following items:

1. A water proof camera
2. A nice big fluffy beach towel
3. Some swim trunks

Lastly, you can take one paragraph and make three version of it. One version is short. One version is very long. And another version has bulleted points or an example or some type of variety that is far different from the other two.

Using an article marketing program like AMA is a wonderful way to build backlinks over time. In addition AMA will show you the results of your submissions. You’ll learn how many people accepted your articles and in a few weeks time you’ll receive some data on where your keywords are ranking in Google.

This is the zone where the savvy experienced and financially successful marketers are directing the noobies or rookies. Once they have you in “their” zone, they know you have now become their own personal ATM machine.

They can make cash withdraws from your wallents any time they like.

So, how do you avoid this AMT failure to succeed zone?

You select a program that you feel confident about. You try it. You follow through and you keep track of your progress.

Many of these programs come with a guarantee. If you do your best to follow their plan and you fail, you can request a refund.

So, PLAN to work hard and follow the plan. Do NOT subscribe to a lot of newsletters on how to make money. This will only confuse you.

Do NOT buy any new program or try any new system even if it is suggested even if that is a recommended product from the person you just purchased your new info. product from.

Follow through on the plan or system you just purchased, stick to the plan, and you will either have great success or you will be getting a refund.

And just to clarify. There are a lot of really good programs and the people who sell you those programs usually try and sell you something else. It doesn’t mean they are evil for telling you about a new program. Some of them are in my opinion evil because it is all they do.

What you need to remember is that you are not ready to consider any “other” program until you have fully tried the one you have committed yourself to. And you committed yourself to that product when you purchased it.

Most people talk about Search Engine Optimization (SEO) in such a manner that it gives out the idea as if it was a big secret. True, there may be techniques and methods that you may not be aware of and thus, they are deemed as ’secrets’ by some. However, upon closer inspection, most of these ’secrets’ can be easily availed through Google’s guidelines for webmasters.

When considering to hire SEO service providers, it is advisable to take the time to read these guidelines yourself. Okay, first off, COME ON People! There are many different tactics to get people to look hard enough to click on a link to do more investigating into the claim. THIS claim has one purpose – to get you to buy a product. That product teaches you how to create awebsite or blog that you can sell advertising spots on.

This is the “PAID” by Google project. You are not getting paid to work for Google. You can earn money by doing what Google does -  Selling Ads like the Google Adwords ads. It’s called may different things and there are several different ways that people use to try and coerce you into buying their program, but the fact is, this has nothing to do with working at home directly for Google.

You can make money with blogs and your website by adding Adsense ads on it. You can also sell little ads on your site or blog. What some people do is they drive traffic to their websites/blogs from other sources, then they themselves sell advertising space on their websites. It’s not a complex way to generate income, but it is a way that is very misleading to the buyers of these programs that are making money by using Googles name.

2. Create and submit videos adding your URL in the description of the video.

3. Write articles and create Web 2.0 pages that contain anchor texts with URL’s leading back to your site. Squidoo and Hugpages are excellent places to start.

Google offers pay per click advertising that includes a link to your website. This is not the type of link that adds value to your site, but it is acceptable.

Locating websites that are highly relavant to your niche website/blog is one way to buy a backlink. This would be one way that I would feel comfortable recommending. As long as you reap good quality traffic from your purchase, it is an acceptable way to achieve backlinks.

If you are going to buy backlinks to your site, you have to ask yourself the question, “What happens to my links once I quit paying?”

There are companies that charge a monthly fee for “x” amount of backlinks to your site. Once you stop paying all of your links are removed. This is the same as holding your site hostage. Why? Because you know that once you stop paying all of those links disappear.

The reason why people go for this type of service is the idea that they will gain a first page position in Google rather quickly for a very small fee. One site charges $20.00 a month for 1000 backlinks. However, those links disappear the instant you no longer pay your monthly fee.

Personally this feels like blackmail and black hat SEO. Your money is better spent building links that will stick . Every dollar spent is spent wisely.
