1. They are taking 2 to 3 times as many days to approve articles. For one of my accounts its’ about double the time – 4 days.

“In the last day or so we launched a pretty big algorithmic improvement to our ranking—a change that noticeably impacts 11.8% of our queries—and we wanted to let people know what’s going on. This update is designed to reduce rankings for low-quality sites—sites which are low-value add for users, copy content from other websites or sites that are just not very useful. At the same time, it will provide better rankings for high-quality sites—sites with original content and information such as research, in-depth reports, thoughtful analysis and so on.”

EzineArticles Google Slap – What Does it Mean for SEO?

This new Ezinearticles Google adjustment means that our articles won’t get as much traffic from EA as it has in the past because of their huge drop in rankings for their content. Huge as in a 71% drop!

This new Ezinearticles Google slap does not mean we should stop submitting our articles to article directories like Ezinearticles.com because their PR did not drop and backlinks from our article resource box will still help improve our rankings. Time will tell as far as how much this change will affect our SEO, but for now, backlinks are still in the green zone.
