Good Spyware & Adware Programs
 
I've been fighting with spyware and adware programs for years. I first learned about these malicious programs when Gator, the free software tools for password and user ID was created. Gator, as far as I remember was a leader in adding spyware to your computer.

Although there are many programs, and I've purchased quite a few, I found the best one for me is by PCTools.com. In fact I have all three of their programs.

Virus Tool - A virus can totally destroy your personal computer. If you use Norton Anti-Virus, McAfee, or anything else, make sure you update these programs daily if necessary.

Spyware Tool - Spyware and adware are not the same as a virus. However, they can be very damaging. These programs track your activity as you surf online. They sell your email address to companies related to the areas you tend to surf. These programs will slow up your computer by eating up all it's resources. Daily removal of spyware and adware are advisable.

Registry Tool - The system registry is one of the most important parts of a Windows-based computer system. PCTools has a program that will keep your registry from being hijacked. To learn more about the windows registry, click here.

My personal recommendation is the buy all three programs from PCTools. These are award winning software programs that will help you keep the evils of the Internet out.

I have used McAfee, but I found the support horrible and I prefer a program that automatically seeks out updates. Perhaps McAfee has changed since I've used them, but for now I'm not impressed.

I have also used eAccelleration which has excellent support, however, I found that this program could not remove several Trojan's on my PC and after searching through several different programs PCTools was the only one that could.

For whatever operating system you use, it is best to continually download and install the updates. Windows has made me want to toss my computer across the room a few times, but overall, their updates work well. Usually it's the new versions that reek havoc on our PC's until Windows has tweaked it to work more smoothly.
